Senior Scholarship Boot Camp

Attention Class of 2018! This is your chance to get assistance locating and writing scholarship applications. Each year our community awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to seniors for a variety of reasons. You can't receive college scholarship money if you do not complete an application!

Scholarship Book Camp Information:

Where: Media Center at New Smyrna Beach High School

When: Thursday, January 18, 2018

Time: Students who register will be assigned to one of the three, boot-camp sessions.

Sessions:

Session 1: 8:00 am to 9:00 am

Session 2: 9:15 am to 10:15 am

Session 3: 10:30 am to 11:30 pm

NEW SMYRNA BEACH HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES for 2017-2018

Below is a list of local scholarship opportunities for the 2017-2018 school year. Please read the requirements carefully and provide all the requested information.  Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Please visit our website to check on any additional scholarship opportunities as they become available.

Scholarship Boot Camp – Get a jump on applying for local scholarships by attending the boot camp on Thursday, January 18, 2018 (noon) in the Media Center. Get help completing the application and writing your essay. Be sure to bring a flash drive, a rough draft of your essay and a copy of the Scholarship Booklet, with the scholarships highlighted, that you want to apply for.
Do not forget to sign-up for your Senior Scholarship Boot Camp session in the Guidance Office.

6. Letter of acceptance to college, university or

a. Standard MLA essay format with a minimum of 500

words and a minimum of 3 paragraphs

b. Accomplishments and experiences throughout the

years as a student

c. Value of library volunteer experience

Parentinn Cyberbullying for Teens Scholarship (For All High School Students)

Parentinn's Scholarship has achieved a major impact on raising awareness of Cyberbullying to all students.

In an effort to the cause of preventing cyberbullying, we have created the “Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship” for High School students.

Award: $1250 for High School students.

Deadline: Feb 28th, 2018 - We run this scholarship annually.

Stetson University - J. Ollie Edmunds Distinguished Scholarship

1. GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (weighted GPA accepted)

2. Possess an ACT composite score of at least 30 or a minimum combined SAT-I score of 1350 (combined Critical Reading and Math)

3. Must also demonstrate that you are well-rounded, creative and a active participant in sports or fitness activities; a strong communicator; a leader through participation in co-curricular activities and community service and exhibit the potential to impact and enrich the lives of fellow students at Stetson as a role model through academic and non-academic achievements.
