Many thanks to New Smyrna Beach EMS and Fire Department, City of Edgewater Fire Department, Edgewater Police Department and Volusia County Sheriff's Department for their assistance in presenting the "Mock Crash" to NSBHS seniors and juniors in preparation for prom scheduled for April 19th, 2019.

New Smyrna Beach Christmas Parade

December 1, 2018 - NSBHS participated in the annual parade.  The parade route was at the NSB Waterfront Loop from Flagler Avenue to Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach. Marching bands, decorated floats, dancers and even troupes of horses traveled the Canal Street Historic District in New Smyrna Beach to bring the "Lights and Sounds of Christmas" to the beautiful seaside town.

Princial Matthew Krajewski and Assistant Principal Julian Doster lead the Barracuda Band in the parade!

Paradise Power Sports Donation

Paradise Power Sports in New Smyrna Beach donated the customization and design of our school logo on one of our golf carts.

Paradise Power Sports is also giving back a portion of their profits to different businesses each quarter. They have selected our Athletic Program to be their first recipient!

We are very appreciate of their partnership!

Testing Information

September 10, 2020

This is Mrs. Croak, the Testing Coordinator at New Smyrna Beach High School. There are quite a few tests happening during the first semester of the school year. I wanted to take this opportunity to make sure you know about the testing website that is available. Go to, select academics and then standardized testing. You will find information about each test that is being offered, a district testing calendar, as well as a calendar that shows you every test and date being offered for the first semester.

I know there is some confusion regarding testing from last year. The Biology, Geometry and US History EOC’s were waived last year for students sitting in those classes. Grades were determined by classwork only and the 30% part of the EOC did not factor in. Students who took those classes prior to last year and did not take the EOC still have to take the EOC to receive a final grade in the class.

The FSA ELA that was to be given to 10th grade students last Spring will be given this year. This is a graduation requirement that must still be met. All 11th grade students will be expected to take this assessment October 26th through the 28th.

If a student was sitting in an Alg 1 class last year, they will be rostered to take the Algebra 1 EOC that is being given September 28th and 29th as the math graduation requirement must still be met. If your student doesn’t do well on the EOC, they can use a Geometry EOC passing score instead. In addition, a math SAT or ACT score can also be used as a concordant score. If your student was in an Alg 1 class last year, they will have an Algebra 1 refresher course on their Edgenuity dashboard. They can self-enroll in this class to practice. The Alg 1 EOC is given 4 times during the year, so your student will have ample opportunity to meet the math graduation requirement.

Please contact me at [email protected] or call me at 424-2555 ext 38585 if you have any questions or concerns about testing. I know it can seem a bit overwhelming at times, but I will do my best to ensure your student is provided every opportunity to participate in the appropriate testing administrations offered..

Thank you!

Deborah Croak

New Smyrna Beach High will begin graduation ticket sales on Tuesday June 16th. Graduation tickets will be available for purchase at the ticket window of the auditorium (use the bus loop entrance) for $3 each and parking passes for the Ocean Center parking garage are $5 each. We will accept cash only.

The Ocean Center is limiting guest capacity this year due to public health concerns related to COVID. As a result, Volusia County Schools have been given a limited number of tickets to sell. Due to the size of New Smyrna Beach’s graduating class, we can reserve 2 tickets per student. We will not be selling tickets on behalf of nonparticipants. Tickets will not be on sale at the Ocean Center or on the day of the event. A clear bag policy is in effect for this event.

Because many of our students enjoy a blended family, we will only be releasing tickets to the graduate who must be present with a valid id (school, driver’s license, passport, etc..). Tickets will not be released to any family members or friends of the graduate.

The auditorium ticket window will be open the following times:

Tuesday, June 16, 9 AM – 11 AM 1 PM – 4 PM

Wednesday, June 17, 9 AM – 11 AM 1 PM – 4 PM

Thursday, June 18, 9 AM – 11 AM 1 PM – 4 PM

Monday, June 22, 9 AM – 11 AM 1 PM – 4 PM

Tuesday, June 23, 9 AM – 11 AM 1 PM – 4 PM
